Another travel day to Queenstown from Te Anau, about 2.5 hours although last 20 min was in a construction delay. Before the drive we did a 6 mile out and back hike on the last bit of the Kepler great walk near Te Anau. Nice, mostly flat hike through a forest to a section of a lake called Shallow Bay. Pretty empty trail except for a few people doing the Kepler Walk.
Got into Queenstown this afternoon, checked into the hotel then headed over to do the Shotover Jet Boat where they take you on a thrill ride through the Shotover river canyon plus they throw in a bunch of 360s. Ride was maybe 20 min long, but since it’s like a real world amusement park ride it was long enough.
