Drove out to Rocky Mountain National Park this morning. I was here just last summer so it was nice to see the same locations with snow on them. Didn’t end up doing any hiking today; a road we planned to go snowshoeing on was plowed for some reason so decided not to go. Still a great day to be out with mostly clear, blue sky and a few clouds. Lots of good scenery with snow still on the mountains.
Went to Boulder, Colorado this weekend to catch up with a friend. Went to try snowshoeing for the first time. Lots of snow still on the ground since we went up to Brainard Lake at 10,000 feet. Not as difficult as I thought, pretty much like walking except with long clown shoes. Fell a few times when the front or back of the shoe got caught on sometimes. Really fun wandering around fresh snow going wherever we wanted. There was a trail to follow, but it was ok to go anywhere. The lake we ended up at was frozen over, but still nice on a cloudy day with high mountains behind the lake.
